Elizabeth McGovern has joined the cast of Seasons, an upcoming supernatural horror film from Drew Hancock, the director of Companion. According to Dread Central, McGovern’s role has not been revealed. McGovern will star alongside Jack Reynor, Lily James, and Ron Perlman. The film follows a husband and wife who purchase their dream ranch, only to discover that the land is inhabited by ancient spirits. Their struggle to survive involves submitting to increasingly disturbing rituals as the seasons change. Seasons is based on My Wife and I Bought a Ranch, a horror short story by Matt and Harrison Query. The story first appeared on Reddit before being adapted into a full-length novel. Hancock is directing from his own screenplay for Amazon MGM Studios. Production is scheduled to begin in Ireland this September. The project is being produced by 21 Laps and Blumhouse Atomic Monster, marking the companies’ third collaboration, according to the report. Shawn Levy and Dan Levine are producing for 21 Laps, while James Wan and Michael Clear are producing for Blumhouse Atomic Monster. Scott Glassgold is also producing through 12:01 Films. Judson Scott is executive producing for Blumhouse Atomic Monster, with Alayna Glasthal overseeing the project for the company. No release date has been announced.
