Lily Collias Attached to Feature Adaptation of ‘Ignore It’ Horror Short

Lily Collias is attached to star in a feature adaptation of “Ignore It,” Sam Evenson’s 2021 horror short that has accumulated more than 12 million views on YouTube. According to iHorror, the project will mark Evenson’s feature directorial debut. Temple Hill Entertainment and Anton are producing the film. Anton is financing the project and handling worldwide sales, with the feature being presented to buyers in Toronto. No release date has been announced. The story centers on a family attempting to survive alongside an entity known as The Woman. According to the film’s official logline, the entity will kill anyone who acknowledges her, leaving the family with one rule: ignore it. Evenson is writing and directing the feature while developing the expanded story with Jeff Speziale, who originally posted the story “You’re Going to Notice a Woman in Your Home, You Must Ignore Her” on Reddit’s r/NoSleep. Evenson adapted that story into the seven-minute short released in 2021. The short won Best Supernatural Short at the 2021 Atlanta Horror Film Festival. Collias will play Becca. The feature represents her first lead role in a studio-backed horror film, according to the report. The producing team for Temple Hill includes Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Isaac Klausner, John Fischer, Hal Sadoff and Ben Levine. Anton’s Sébastien Raybaud and Kathy Stocker are executive producing. The original short featured Madison Rojas, Madison Leyson, Michael Perl, Aina Dumlao and Crystal Hughes. It remains available to watch for free on YouTube. Evenson is also developing a feature version of “Mora,” another of his short films. iHorror reports that NEON acquired that project earlier this year, although “Ignore It” is expected to enter production first. Evenson’s visual effects credits include “Dune: Part Two,” HBO’s “The Last of Us” and “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
