Psychological Horror Film INFLUENCE Sets North American Release Date

Freestyle Digital Media has set a September 4 release for INFLUENCE, a psychological horror film written and directed by Ryan Moore. The movie will be available across North American digital HD internet, DVD, cable, and satellite platforms. Rue Morgue’s report on the release also features the film’s trailer and poster. The cast includes Cheyenne Perez, Grace Kaufman, Emily Hall, David Lengel, and Hilty Bowen. INFLUENCE follows Patricia Abro, played by Perez, a filmmaker who has been pushed to the margins of the entertainment industry while struggling with her mental health. Desperate to make a Hollywood film, Patricia becomes focused on Ashley Ortiz, a social media influencer and actress portrayed by Kaufman. After Patricia approaches Ashley with a project created specifically for her and is rejected, Patricia obtains a gun and breaks into Ashley’s home. She takes Ashley hostage, setting the stage for a psychological confrontation between the two women. The film’s synopsis describes what follows as a cat-and-mouse game that builds toward a bloody climax. Its central conflict places Patricia’s ambitions against Ashley’s public identity, with both characters pursuing validation, success, and control. The production describes INFLUENCE as a story about the point where performance and identity begin to overlap. Its premise examines the personas people construct for an audience and what remains when those performances can no longer be maintained.
