Alliance Home Entertainment and The Horror Section have announced the physical-media release plans for Eli Roth’s Ice Cream Man. The horror comedy will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on October 20, while a limited 4K UHD and Blu-ray Collector’s Edition SteelBook is set for November 17.
Before those editions arrive, Ice Cream Man will become available digitally on September 22 through Paramount Global Content Distribution. Horror Society reports that the film premiered in theaters in August.
The story takes place in the seaside town of Bayleen Bay, where the arrival of a mysterious ice cream man coincides with a deadly transformation among the local children. A group of unaffected kids attempts to discover the truth behind the stranger before the town descends further into chaos.
Roth directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Noah Belson. The cast includes Ari Millen, Benjamin Byron Davis, Roth, Karen Cliche, Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh O’Reilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zelter and Charlie Storey.
The standard Blu-ray and DVD editions will include interviews with Roth and Millen. The Collector’s Edition SteelBook will add an exclusive slipcover, collectible art cards and scratch-and-sniff stickers. Its listed bonus content includes commentary from Roth and Belson, additional cast and crew interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, Roth’s short films and a trailer gallery.
The SteelBook release will also feature the “Ice Cream Man: The Backstory,” “The Ice Cream Truck” and “Kidpocalypse” featurettes. The film was produced by Roth, Kate Harrison Karman, Christopher Woodrow and Raj B. Singh.
