The Restoration at Grayson Manor Trailer Unleashes Sentient Hands

Horror Movie News Report

The trailer for The Restoration at Grayson Manor has been released, previewing a horror story about prosthetic hands that begin acting on their owner’s violent impulses. Chroma released the footage ahead of the film’s planned theatrical arrival this October. Chris Colfer stars as Boyd Grayson, described in the film’s official synopsis as a hedonistic heir who torments his mother over her fixation on the family legacy. Alice Krige plays Boyd’s mother, who rebuilds him with prosthetic hands after an accident leaves him without hands. The prosthetics are wired to his subconscious, but the hands develop a dangerous connection to his most violent urges. The story unfolds inside the decaying Gothic Grayson Manor, where the hands bring a series of horrors to the estate. Daniel Adegboyega, Declan Reynolds, Gabriela Garcia Vargas, Matthew McMahon, Issac Cairns and Dave Byrne also appear in the cast. Glenn McQuaid directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with author Clay McLeod Chapman. McQuaid’s previous directing credit cited in the reporting is I Sell the Dead. The Restoration at Grayson Manor previously screened at Fantastic Fest in 2025. In a review for Dread Central, Matthew Jackson described the movie as “a haunting, hilarious queer melodrama,” a characterization that reflects the film’s blend of horror and heightened family drama. The new trailer marks the latest look at the film before its theatrical release in October.
